    Vehicle Jolt and Shifting Issues

Lubing the drive shaft resolved the jolting when stopped at a light issue for me. Red N Tacky grease and a grease gun with quick disconnect make it easy.

battery light on - battery tests good and alternator charging ok

Hello all, A few days ago the battery light on the dash came on on my 06 V8 T4R. I checked scangauge3 and it appears the alternator is charging the battery just fine at 13.8v when the vehicle is on. It shows some fluctuation 13.6v-14v with scangauge but remains solid 13.8v with something else...

    Welding frame holes

It's done! They found a couple of more spots for the frame shop to tackle so I'll eventually go back and get those done before fall and I'll need to go back next year for another coat.

    Welding frame holes

Update: I just picked the vehicle up from frame shop - it ended up costing $650, they said it was more extensive than it 1st appeared but they got it done and put some undercoating over on that side for good measure, although I'm still going to get the whole belly done like I had wanted - just...

    90-degree small coolant bypass hose

Hello all, I have an 06 V8 with 190K that started leaking coolant after a timing belt water pump job. Upun further inspection it appeared to be leaking from a small 90-degree coolant bypass hose that's easily accesible from under the vehicle. I first replaced the spring clamps with worm gear...

    oil change-mileage or months?

Very informative post, thanks to everyone that responded and the OP for asking the question; I have a related question but regarding oil type. Earlier this month I bought an 06 V8 with 190K miles on the clock and the previous owner said he always used full synthetic. Should I continue doing...

    4th gen spare tire question

My previous vehicle was a 3rd gen that came with a steel rim for the donut so I wasn't sure if 4th gens were the same or not. While researching online, it said the 4th gens do come with a regular size spare but it was steel and not alloy like the regular wheels were and that the steel spare...

    Another V8 Header option

When I recover from having just bought my 06 and getting some work done to it (mainly timing belt/water pump, new set of tires, getting the frame patched and undercoated) I'll be contacting these people to get the ball rolling for the headers, y pipe with resonators (live in the city) and the...

    Welding frame holes

I'm dealing with this right now; took the vehicle in to get an undercoat only to discover a hole in the frame which they said should be addressed 1st, if I wanted to keep this vehicle for a while. I mentioned to them that I had a timing belt/water pump job at my mechanic next week and they said...

    4th gen spare tire question

Thanks all, I'm pretty sure they're the same; good point about the full-time 4WD requiring same wheel for the spare.

    4th gen spare tire question

I just purchased an 06 T4R Sport V8 4WD and want to mount 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers that came off of my 3rd gen on it, but read somewhere that if I ever needed to use the spare tire, I'd also need to take the wheel spacer off. I just checked the spare tire and it looks just like the...

    Another V8 Header option

Thanks for this, I'm about to pull the trigger on a 06 V8 and might go this route when it's time to address the cracked exhaust manifold eventuality.

    The End

They towed it out of my driveway earlier this week. It's final resting place: https://www.copart.com/lot/51615796/2000-toyota-4runner-limited-ne-lincoln Maybe someone will buy it for cheap and fix it up; I just didn't have the time or the expertise to do it myself...

    4th gen pre-purchase question - rust

Thanks for everyone's response. Yes, that last picture is what concerned me the most, it looks a bit too deep to just be surface rust. Most of the ones I come across are rust belt vehicles and not being able to see in person is tough. I think I'll narrow my search to local vehicles only for...
