Toy parts says refurbished head unit is $792 w/core exchange and it should plug right in without any programming or visit to service dept. think i will go this route - thanks for everyone's input.

my local dealer is worthless. you talk with a service adviser who knows nothing and the real service techs are in another building and not accessible. i can try the parts guy - good idea unplug and plug same unit may not trigger issue???

it would limit buyers and give them an point to negotiate price reduction. i want it working and can't seem to get a clear answer regarding swapping in another unit.

finding a unit is not the issue. my question is: if i install a unit from another vehicle (ebay, etc.), does it just plug in and work or is system programming required. has anyone done this???

My navigation/bluetooth/Apps/Aux/USB/etc. stopped working. The radio, CD player and BU camera still work. If I buy a replacement on fleebay, can I just plug it in and it works? I have read posts stating a different unit will need to be re-programmed by the dealer.

If you use it like it is designed, i.e.- a bump shifter, it is backwards. If you like the design, great, use it. If not, this is the fix.

Swap the light green and light gray wires on the harness female connector. On the switch side male connector the colors are different, but you don't need to access the plug unless you brake the wire like I did. You can get to this connector by just removing the top trim piece. It is right below...
