    Doc's CS144 alternator upgrade.

Yeah, was just maybe thinking of trying to pick up some washers and jb welding them together if I knew the proper pitch or size could try it out. Guess it'll be trial and error

You don't happen to remember the pitch of the pulley bolt do you?

    Doc's CS144 alternator upgrade.

Thanks for the info guys, definitely was heading both directions. I noticed as I backed off the tensioner bolt it did merit less squealing. The spacer is definitely the next target behind the pulley. And I suppose moving the washers shouldn't prove too troublesome. Thank you for the responses!

    Doc's CS144 alternator upgrade.

Did this upgrade today, did the 3 washers for the spacer (still a tiny tiny gap, could be my problem?), but I noticed everyone did theirs at the exit of the bolt upon the alternator, is this imperative? Only asking because I have a nasty belt squeal, I was able to make the OG alternator belt...

Initial planning stage of rear brake overhaul – thoughts, tips and experiences?

The drums are pretty straight forward, I have had issues with the wheel cylinder I got from autozone that starts to leak fluid pretty gnarly after nothing short of a week. However the shoes and hardware were pretty good

    Harmonic balancer installer

I've been doing quite a bit of research about the timing belt job for the DIY'er and I'm just wondering about the crank shaft pullet bolt reinstall, I see a lot of people make their own tool for the pulley holder, would a harmonic balancer installer not be able to do what is needed to hold and...

ABS Disable on older 3rd gens

I'm curious about this, about a year ago me and a buddy of mine were installing my rear suspension but unfortunately my 4runner had fallen off the jackstands due to a miscommunication while lifting and as a result I've had an ABS light on ever since but noticed no issues while driving and or...

The Official 3rd Gen Dual Case, Dual Locked Thread

All this talk about dual lockers and gearing and here I am with a stupid automatic... but that opens up for a whole new realm of possibilities. I've seen the 5 speed swap on a few threads, would it be beneficial to look into doing a 5 speed swap while also toying with the idea of getting a dual...

    Retrofit projector upgrade

The shrouds I ordered with my kit came with the switchback halos preinstalled so no worries, but I went with the Panamera shrouds and they are about the biggest shroud you can fit in the 99-02 housing just a FYI and also be sure to EPOXY THE SHROUD ON THE PROJECTOR otherwise you'll be rebuilding...

    Gearing help/on a budget

I had a buddy of mine offer up a 01 suburban rear axle for a project housing. Obviously I would gear and locker the 8.4 but would having a larger diff in the rear affect the 8" diff in the front even if I regear to match? I would also assume transitioning suspension parts as well but at least...

    Gearing help/on a budget

The more I look the more I'm leaning towards just going new from ECGS or Marlin Crawler has some good things going on as far as build kits for 4.88 and an automatic locker to match as well for under 1,000. Even though the junk yard route would be nice to experiment with third members and...

    Gearing help/on a budget

Morning everyone! Was just wondering if I could inquire about where I should look for a budget rear end gearing and a locker. I'm only gearing the rear end right now with being a college student on a budget I want to make sure I like what I'm getting and after doing my research and using a bit...
