Harmonic balancer installer

I've been doing quite a bit of research about the timing belt job for the DIY'er and I'm just wondering about the crank shaft pullet bolt reinstall, I see a lot of people make their own tool for the pulley holder, would a harmonic balancer installer not be able to do what is needed to hold and set the pulley? Or is the Toyota one set up different so that the pulley won't engage and lock while trying to torque down to specs? Just trying to save a trip to the hardware store

You shouldn't need a balancer puller at all but if you do only to remove the balancer.

To remove and install you need a pulley holder to stop it from turning and so you can torque the bolt properly.

You can remove it without a holder but not torque it properly.
