Anyone pulling a camper with V6?

I tow a 3000 lb pop up camper. Add bikes on the rack, loaded camper, and loaded truck, maybe 3500 lbs total. Don't even know its back there and get around 14 mpg average measured. I'm looking at buying an 18 to 20ft runabout and am not concerned about pulling or launching it as I also have...

    Made in USA?

I don't think where it's built is important, it's where it was designed and the manufacturing technology developed. The quality will only be as good as the prints and tools the workers are given. Look at all the foreign vehicles built in the US - Toyota, Honda, Nissan, BMW, Mercedes. All...

1 day in Moab. What to see & do?

Sucks. Moab is the gods gift to getting off the pavement. 4wheeling, mountain biking, rafting, hiking, rock climbing, dirt biking, even ATV'ing, it's Outdoor Mecca. Seven years living in Utah was tough, culturally, but Moab alone made up for it. Red Rocks rock!

Thinking about buying a used T4R...

check autotrader.com. Set your radius for about 200 miles or more. Most dealers will have internet specials, i.e. on the internet, they advertise their discount, where as, if you just go to the dealer, they will try to get their list/sticker, whatever you call it for a used car. Also, I think...

Thinking about buying a used T4R...

Keep looking. I got my 08 SR5 with 28K miles, certified, for $21K two months ago. Your dealer has much room to move.

    Just finished 1600 miles towing

Hi. Got the T4R in June. Just finished 1600 miles between Austin TX and all around Arkansas towing 3200 lbs of pop up trailer. Even with the V6, I can report that this is one tough vehicle. It pulls the trailer better than my former 2003 V8 Avalanche. Never felt it back there, mostly forgot...

Hub/wheel are hot to the touch!

I had the same happen a few years back on my Wrangler. I had just swapped wheels and tires and by the time I got home, the wheels were very hot. Took it to a tire shop to get the wheels balanced and the heat went away. Turns out, with aluminum wheels, torque on the lug nuts is critical or you...

    towing wire harness

You should have a 7 blade RV connector under the bumper on the left side (not a great spot btw). Your buddies boat most likely has a 4 wire flat connector. You can get adaptors that plug into the 7 wire and convert it to 4. Camping World, Cabella's , or any RV or boat dealer should have...

So all of you all that have hit birds, or have had birds hit you, what color was your vehicle?

    bird whacker

Dang, hit another one this morning on the way to work. Didn't here me coming until it was too late. Maybe I need a loud muffler.

Odd knocking noise behind center console area with AC running?

also, look in your glove box, center console, any where you may have something loose. You'd be amazed at what sounds can come from stuff laying around. Last week, a half empty water bottle was driving me nuts. It was the little ring that holds the cap tight in the store.

Odd knocking noise behind center console area with AC running?

Look at your AC vents and move them around a little. Mine apparently has a loose spot that makes a slight rattle. moving it to a different position, ever so slightly, makes it go away. Otherwise, compared to my old Avalanche, wrangler, and even odyssey, my T4R is dead quiet.

1 day in Moab. What to see & do?

I used to take my wrangler there quite a bit. It was lifted and locked and I could tackle most trails. I was there last week in my new T4R. Wife wouldn't let me tackle anything. However, if you don't want to break anything, try these: Potash Road to Canyon Lands - go through the potash...

    bird whacker

Ok, after 32 years of driving, I have never had a bird hit me. This week, in my new SALSA RED 2008, three times. Once in UT, once in CO, and once in TX. I think its the color, or is it a bird magnet?
