    24's on 3rd gen...

Runner on 24's I've been reading this whole thread about putting 24's on a 3rd gen runner, and I don't see what the big deal is. EVERYONE has there own opinion on what looks good on a truck. Some people dig slingin' mud and some like lookin' good in the streets. Putting 35's with mud tires has...

    Caliper relocation

dot 5 SRF Wow, didn't know dot 5 was such a heated issue! From what I can see the dot 5 works far better that my old stuff in terms of stopping the 20's. If it causes any problems, I haven't seen any. Only thing is you have a change it more than normal, no big deal. If it causes problems with...

Looking at 22"s for my 97... need help on fitment!!

tire size fyi Hey guys...just wanted to repost on tire size. I did some research on tire size width. You cannot run to different width tires on a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle. (i.e. 305's on rear 285's on front) Apparently it can mess up your difs and your tranny. This is what I've heard...

    Caliper relocation

SRF The only reason that I went with the SRF was basically that a friend of mine had enough at his shop to do my truck, so it was free. He uses it in his track car and says it's the best, and will use nothing else. I agree about it being a little pricey to use all the time. If I was paying I...

    Caliper relocation

calipers I found this kit on underdog racing, but it's a little bit more than I was thinking of spending right now. I was (and still am) looking for more of just caliper relocation bracket. Planning on building my own setup for brakes. Gotta be cheaper than this, plus I want to pick my own...

Looking at 22"s for my 97... need help on fitment!!

22" Yes you can fit up to a 22" wheel on a stock 4runner 96-98. I'm actually looking into swapping my 20's for 22's on my 98'. Tires is the only thing. I've seen runners with 285/35 or 40/22 tire all the way around, but I think they may rub in the front. My idea was to go 275/35/22 up front and...

How much can my 3rd GEN 3.4L V6 tow?

trailer I've towed my 20' boat on a single axle trailer without trailer brakes every summer for the last three years. Combined weight between the two is about 4000 lbs. With the ECT button on and overdrive off, it pulls great. The only difference I've seen is you can really eat up brakes if...

    Caliper relocation

Hey guys... Anyone know anything about caliper relocation kits to fit bigger rotors on a 96-98 runner. Any companies that make a kit? I'm running 20"x 9 wheels and my brakes need some attention.

    Reverse glow gauges on 98'

gauges Yeah the 99+ have a cross hatch pattern gauges, looks similar to carbon fiber. But the setup is different than our model year, you could possibly retrofit newer gauges into a 96-98. Might be an option. I'll look around see what I can find.
