Mine was also a NAPA one, 50 bucks or so (CAD). Went into one of the freeze plugs also. Works great, no complaints here!

Yeah so 1 headlamp assembly from rock auto is 78 bucks new, plus 50 bucks shipping. So in a shop brand new it would be around 200 bucks in my experience, hence why I am after a used one. :)

I went through this 2 years ago and a new set was 200-300 bucks and all the junkyards in my area already sold them all. They seem to be a popular thing to break. I ended up getting one off one of these forums for ~$50. Ill check the shops tomorrow but im pretty sure new ones are expensive.

Ive broke another headlight and I was wondering if anyone out there has a 2nd hand one they want to sell. Im in Canada so Canadian would be best, else the shipping gets a little too costly.

I just dont see how the coolant level would affect this. Its gotta be a sensor or something since it ONLY happens when the temps drop. I gave up on finding the leaking coolant. Its not really an issue, it just seems to suck the overflow bottle down to the MIN level and then I can go months in...

Issue is back Normally it would idle around 1000-1200 but now that the temp had gone down to -15 to -20 in the morning it now revs/idles higher at 2000+! After a few mins it drops back to 1500 or so. Just a little concerned as I dont like the engine revving at 2000+ revs when its stone cold...

Bump. Anyone have any suggestions on which are better engine block heaters? Ive heard of two kinds, one that warms the coolant and one that warms the oil pan. Any suggestions which is better? Price differences? etc?

Are they easy to install? How much are they? Any good brands to go with?

Went with normal. Synthetic is harder to find up here, not to mention I would have spent well $250 if I went full synthetic. Still spent $100+ bucks on oils but that included engine as well! :P The bloke at the toyota dealership was nice, printed me out a fluid fact sheet for my model truck...

Does everyone still recommend the Plenum Gasket be done as well? Looking at an extra $110 for the gasket up here at Napa Canada. Will it add much time to the job?

Should I be getting synthetic 75-90 or will just conventional do? Just looked at the price on synthetic and its almost 5 times the price. Is it really worth it? Does Toyota recommend synthetic? Also, its coming up to winter and Im due for an oil change. What should I be looking at running...

Mine used to do this also. Come to think of it after I did the head gasket and had that fixed it improved a heap. I had the timing belt changed at the same time so I would tend to agree with run4yota, perhaps the tensioner is loose. Ive also had the timing "advanced" around a similar time so...

$60 bucks each side? bargain. Up in Canada here I paid $30 or $40 a side for the boots only (shafts were more like $120 each) and now one of my CV's I can hear is going. Wish I paid the extra and did the whole thing.
