Sensa Trac Strut + reflex Shock

I replaced the "struts" on my '99 LTD, pretty simple, but you'll need a strut compresser to compress the spring after the assembly is removed. I borrowed one from Auto Zone, just leave a deposit and you get it back when you return the tool. i put Monroe Reflex on, they seem OK, better ride...

    changing rear shocks

I attempted to change the original rears on my '99 and after alot of scraped skin and four-letter words, I took it to a local shop and they did it for about $90. Haynes manual said to just twist the shock because it's so difficult to get to the nut on top, but it was so rusty that didn't work at...

    Windshield cost question

Just got done searching posts on windshield replacement and found cost from $300 to $1200. A local glass shop here in NE Ohio quoted me $150 with labor to replace mine on a '99 Limited. Any ideas why the huge price difference? Will quality be that much better with the pricey ones? I didn't...

How do I remove front seat cushions?

Local auto upholstery shop. Call around though, I paid more than I probably had to. But they did a good job.

How do I remove front seat cushions?

Thank you, Mr. Walken, but I prefer to seek out people who have some experience for some helpful hints before attacking something I've never done before and probably won't do again. That being said, anyone else who needs to remove their seat cushion, I just finished and it is fairly easy. First...

How do I remove front seat cushions?

Tried a search but no luck. I'm getting some leather replaced on driver's seat cushion (bottom only) and need to remove it. Has anyone done this? I looked at it and see two bolts on the side holding the front of the cushion to the seat track but don't see how the rear of the cushion...

Both rear doors making a noise??

I had a similar noise. Unlatch the seatbacks and pull them out just a little so they're not locked all the way up, more like resting against the lock. This seemed to stop my noise. I've got to look closer for a more permanent fix now. Good luck.

What is the bolt pattern on my '99 SR5 2WD?

Just checked www.tirerack.com They list bolt pattern as 6-139, which is 6-lug, 139mm diameter.

'99...struts are listed instead of shocks, why?

Just looking through parts sites and I keep getting listings for struts on the front of my '99 Ltd. Unless I'm way off, the front is a shock sitting inside a coil spring, right? Can anyone shed any light on this? I was thinking of Monroe Reflex all around. 100% on-road, looking for smooth, good...

In bedded wires on the right rear window

I'm pretty sure the "ice" warning is strictly based on the temperature nearing 32 where ice would possibly develop. My Explorer had the same notification on it's temp display. I doubt the mirror has any wheel slip sensors attached to it.

just moved ot the snow. little help?

Make sure you have outside air coming through the system. Recirculating will cause fogging also. Find a car wash that has underbody spray to clean salt off the places a regular wash doesn't get to.

ABS light on, turn signals not working

I think I ordered this http://www.etrailer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=E&Product_Code=31823&Category_Code= In case the link doesn't work, it's item 31823. If you search for "converter" on their site, you'll get a list of several, this one seemed to be the best match. It is...

ABS light on, turn signals not working

Don't Spend The Big Bucks On OEM! I replaced my blown converter with one from www.etrailer.com and it works fine. I think it only cost about $40.00 for the one with a protection circuit inside. If you search my posts I think I posted instructions on installation in case you are unsure. Good luck!
