Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of discarding the steel spare and replacing with an alloy spare with a winter/offroad tire of the same size.

I'm considering a trip to Alaska next year and would like to take some spare wheels. How many can I safely tie on to a factory 2016 4Runner Trail roof rack and how would I safely secure them? Also, can an extra OEM rim with tire be put in the spare tire well?

I traded it in for my new 4Runner back in January. The photo was back when I lived in NH, but I was on a road trip in Nova Scotia.

My 4runner Trail has the factory Dunlops. I went to the local offroad park and got stuck. Some of the other visitors said I need different tires. Apparently a good set of Nitto Trail Grapplers run about $1,200. Until I can afford the new tires, what kind of limitations will I have compared...

With $38K to spend would you prefer a new 2016 4Runner or a 2008 Land Cruiser in good condition and low mileage? Can you tell me why?

The toughest challenge for me is worrying about damaging a $38K vehicle when learning how to offroad. I got my T4R TE back in January.

In New Hampshire they have a thing called "class 6 roads". They are used as snowmobile trails in the Winter. I heard they can be used as 4x4 trails in the Summer if you're willing to get "pinstripes".

I'm reluctantly voting for Trump. I was considering Gary Johnson, but the anti-Trump protesters with this "America was never great" crap, is pushing me towards Trump.

The Dallas area dealers really tick me off. I wanted KDSS and they told me "special order at full MSRP". I didn't enjoy being forced to travel to Colorado to get a good deal on a T4R with KDSS.

I'm going to have to put that on my list of places to visit. Did you have to pay to offroad there?
