Great thread - even though its years old. I recently replaced both my OEM axles with Carquest house brands axles. I retained my OEMs, got a boot kit, and will be re-booting them when time permits and will just store them away for future use as there was nothing wrong with the axles themselves.

Looks sweet. Where did you obtain it, and how much did it cost? Any issues with the install?

So, as a couple of other guys have said, based on what you posted, my prime suspect would be the brake master cylinder. Go ahead and have that tested to get it diagnosed properly. Its not a terribly labor intensive repair, but I imagine you will pay handsomely for a new OEM unit.

Do you know what hydraulic means? How would movement of the 'entire hub' affect the brake fluid & pressure in a closed system?

Its rare when sitting alone reading things on the internet makes me literally LOL, but this one is a gem. Did they per chance explain how an improperly torqued axle nut would causing brake pedal issues???

Hopefully youre not quartS low. The volume for the tranny is just over 4 quarts. Hopefully a fraction of a quart will get you there.
