2005 4Runner - new oil leak after oil change

I used 5w-30. I just find it strange the leak just showed up coincidentally after I changed the oil. I would have seen the leak while under there if it was previously there.

2005 4Runner - new oil leak after oil change

Hey guys - its late so can't really dig into the situation right now, not until later in the week. Just changed the oil today in the wife's 4runner. I noticed an oil leak. Saw it on the driveway and residual oil on the skid pan. The area on the pan behind the oil lug plug (towards the rear) I...

    when to wax???

AIO will probably remove the dealer applied sealant. AIO is a great chemical cleaner. You can wax after AIO and SG but the wax may take away from the look SG gives you. You may even like the look. Its all personal preference. AIO and SG are great products but IMO not the best. Everyone will...

    Using an Orbital Buffer

That coleman orbital won't harm your finish. Its basically good for applying wax, not to remove scratches. It won't build up enough speed and heat for that. I don't like Megiuars #7, it can be a PITA to remove. The duster may have left parafin wax streaks instead of scratches. Did you examin...

    New Runner and Paint Scratches

Exactly, It all depends on how anal you are about your finish. If you can live with knowing the swirls are there but are fine with hiding them, then so be it. Me personally don't like swirls being there so I polish them out. I try and only polish about once a year and maintain the finish with a...

    New Runner and Paint Scratches

Zaino will not and does not remove swirls. Z-5 hides or fills the scratches and swirls. When the sealnt wears away you will see them again. The only way to remove swirls is to level the paint with a compound or an abrasive polish. Zaino now has an abrasive polish available now but I have not...

    New Runner and Paint Scratches

Stay away from the dealer, never let them wash your vehicle wether its when you first buy it or if you take it to them for service. Dealers will hack the paint up to all hell. All Paint gets these swirls and marring, not just dark colors. It comes from improper washing and drying tecniques...

    Sunroof question??

You got me confused  I'm not sure how the roof rails corespond with the sunroof. Does any of your guys' sunroof have the loose play in it? If you press on it will it give about an 1/8 inch? Thanks for everyones input so far. Glad that it seems possibly normal. I figure if I have a...

    Sunroof question??

I thought I would post this here because it might get more views. On my 05 runner the sunroof is a little loose in the closed position. I noticed this while washing it today. I think it is causing it to leak but I'm not 100% sure because I was opening and closing it while the roof was wet from...

    Zainoed my 4runner, now what?

I dry with a leaf blower as well. Not only does it get water out of the nook and crannies so you don't end up with dried water runs an hour later, it prevents unneccesary rubbing w/ a MF towel. What I mean is the less drying you have to do with a towel, the less chance for unwanted swirls marks...

    "Quik Wax"

It can harm the rims if you let it sit to long. Let sit for 20-30 sec tops. I only use it on wheels that are in poor shape, not every wash. With aluminum wheels you have to be careful what you use on them and how long you let it sit on the rim. For routine rim and tire cleaning, I use an All...

    Klasse all in one

For optimum durability use the SG. AIO's durability by itself is debatable. AIO is a great product, really good at cleaning the paint. For a really nice look top AIO with a quality carnuba wax.

    "Quik Wax"

I totally agree. Quick waxes definitly don't provide any long term protection. Only good for a little extra POP after a washing or maybe before a show. Eagle one's A2Z wheel cleaner is excellent IMO. It is my go to wheel cleaner for baked on brake dust.

    Questions on detailing with Zaino...

It will take you most of the day if not longer depending on how fast and hard you want to work. My advice is take your time and do a thorough job. It won't hurt a thing to add another layer of Z-2 the next day if you get to tired or run out of time. Just hit the runner up with some Z 6 before...

    "Quik Wax"

I good over the counter product I recommend trying is Eagle one's "wax as U dry" Any retailer just about carries it. When your done washing just mist each panel with it and dry and you will have added shine with a *little* durability for those in between wax jobs.
