2005 4Runner - new oil leak after oil change

Hey guys - its late so can't really dig into the situation right now, not until later in the week. Just changed the oil today in the wife's 4runner. I noticed an oil leak. Saw it on the driveway and residual oil on the skid pan. The area on the pan behind the oil lug plug (towards the rear)

I use Mobil 1 and have been for years. The leak is clean oil and I did not have any spills during the oil change. Everything is tight and it is not coming from the oil plug. It was dry around that. 93,000 miles on her. Could this be the rear main seal? I've been told Mobil 1 will cause leaks to appear in older vehicles due to it being "thinner" so to speak. This vehicle has been flawless and no leaks until now. Any idea what I could be looking at?

If it is leaking between the trans and the engine then it could be the rear main seal. What weight M1 did you use? I doubt its because it is too thin, toyota now specs 0w20 and its cst @ 100 is in the 7's lol. That is thin.

I used 5w-30. I just find it strange the leak just showed up coincidentally after I changed the oil. I would have seen the leak while under there if it was previously there.

it does on newer 1GRFEs, but not our V6s. There is a member here who is using 0W-20 and hasn't reported any problems. I'd like to use 0W20, but I'm thinking there must be a reason why Toyota isn't extending that recommendation to our FE's

I figured it was because the 03-04 engines were not roller rocker. Those bumpsticks take a beating. Also our engines are sl rated meaning high zinc is okay. One of the reasons I used hdeo!!
