I ran the wires down the frame and spliced them into the existing wires for the running board lights. It took me longer to strip those tiny wires than it did to bolt everything on. I bent the brackets a bit once the lights came on to line them up. I wish the beam angle was a little wider, but...

I needed a few washers to put on the original running board bolt (I had to scrounge around in my tool box). The front bracket sits relatively flat, but the rear bracket had to be bent a little so it wouldn’t aim the light underneath the truck.

The box between the battery and the switch is a plug. I ordered a Toyota push button switch. The switch has a fourth wire that connects to the dash lights for the backlight. Does there need to be a fuse between the battery and the switch? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mine has been doing the EXACT same thing plus a little bit of squeaking. In fact, I took a video today that I was going to post. Sounds like there's a bird trapped behind my glove box. I'll try this fix out tomorrow to see if it solves the problem.

Found this pic on another thread (linked earlier). How big are those holes? Could they be cut larger to fit the light? Anything behind it? Any structural issues?

I really enjoyed this one: 4th gen Ground Lighting (without running boards) Gonna get around to trying it out soon...if I ever get the ones mounted in my bumper.
