    Brake booster: Is non-ABS ok?

Hey folks, I can't find a straight answer, so I hope you can help. I have a '94 T4R 2WD with rear ABS. I swapped out the brake booster only (not MC) several years back with a junkyard part and didn't know anything about the ABS at the time, so I don't know if I have the right one or not...

    Accelerator/Throttle cable problem

I checked the regulator and it seems dry - doesn't appear to be leaking around it anywhere. I think the leak is toward the passenger side of the truck. If that regulator goes bad, can it force a leak somewhere else?

    Accelerator/Throttle cable problem

I took off the TB and the plenum, but I didn't touch the intake. I did get my cables issues fixed, and I tried again, but it dripped some fuel again. I got under it while it was still dripping but couldn't locate it. It was dripping off the back of the engine, on the passenger side, but I can't...

    Accelerator/Throttle cable problem

Hey folks, I could use some help. I replaced several parts on my '94 v6 3.0 T4R that involved removing the plenum and taking off the throttle body. After I got everything put back together and reattached all the vacuum hoses, etc., I tried to start it. It didn't crank but it turned over just...

Need quick advice and diagnosis . . .

Up front - I don't have time to do my own research in the forums right now, so any links, advice, diagnosis, would be much appreciated. What happened: Wife was driving our '94 v6 T4R and the radiator split on top and blew out all the coolant. She never knew what happened. Drove it another 5...

    Popping noise when turning

I actually found (2) OEM caps in stock at my local dealership for $5 a piece, so I picked those up. All four were still on my 4Runner, but the back ones were much more worn, and all four were only worn on the side. I put the new ones on the worst side, and for now I'm going to take my best used...

    Popping noise when turning

I'm glad I read this thread. I've had the same thing, but only on the driver's side that I've noticed. I bought mine used so I assumed something was dry or worn out - even had a couple mechanics tell me the same thing, with no specifics. I'm about to check it out. Thanks guys.

    '90 4runner idle problems!

Should be the one on bottom that you see while the butterfly valve is closed. Below is an example pic.

    '90 4runner idle problems!

I had the same problem this summer here in Alabama - hot. Mine would idle low and stall out a traffic lights or when I was braking and turning. I had a dirty idle air control valve I think. I just took the air intake hose off of the throttle body and sprayed just a very little bit of...

    Dilemna: Keep 2-Gen 4Runner or go FJ62?

To answer your question, I wouldn't, and didn't. I have a '94 T4R, and had the opportunity to get a similar FJ a couple months back (can't remember what year now). I basically decided I could do twice as much with my 4Runner since it's cheaper. Probably the biggest factor for me was...

Power Antenna Motor Runs Too Long

Thanks for the detailed instructions and especially the pic. I could see the difference there and what I was doing wrong. See my reply to TheDurk about the write-up I was using. I was just a little off base. I appreciate you guys helping me out. The frustration is over (well, after I get the...

Power Antenna Motor Runs Too Long

I did exactly that according step #5 of this write-up. I remember thinking at the time it seemed odd, but forgot about it. Anyway, I did what you said and it works like new. Perfect! Always the little things... Many thanks!

    Opportunity to buy '95 T4R

So it's been sitting there roughly six years and hasn't been driven? Is that right? I'd start with the VIN and decode it. Use that and your best sight judgment, then plug it into Kelley Blue Book online to get a baseline value. I would assume a full tune up is in order, even if it had one...

Power Antenna Motor Runs Too Long

To answer your question, the antenna is feeding in perfectly and stopping, and then feeding all the way out. The motor keeps turning and pushes the actual antenna back out, plus the extra several inches of tooth strip - all out of the bezel nut. Am I doing it wrong? If I remember correctly...
