Why the silly staccato braking Hi, If I were the 4runner I would gently apply the brakes to stop it from rolling backwards. Instead there is this annoying staccato braking. I assume this is necessary for some reason. Does anyone know why the ABS works this way?

I have an SR5 and there is no click in my switch. I can't set the display to max brightness when the headlights are on. I wonder if installing a switch from a Limited would work on an SR5.

According to the users manual only attempts to open the doors or trunk can set it off. I don't know how this is detected.

I had a hard time finding a T4R, but not because they were flying off the lot. Many of the dealers in my area were no longer selling the 4runner, or only the LE. There were not many choices. I think Toyota has not been selling many. I expect the 4runner will go the way of the dinosaurs...

Wrong: The RFID chip in the key doesn't get programmed. It just replies with a number when the car asks it who it is. The car must be programmed to recognize the key number as OK. This is not expensive technology, they are thinking of putting RFID's in many products you buy. It is gouging...

My dealer refused to turn it off -- said it was a safety issue. This was not the regular chime, I just wanted them to turn off the obnoxious louder chime that comes on after a minute or so.
