    safari racks

Hey all, I'm thinking about a safari roof rack and noticed that Costco has one made by Coleman for $119. Is this a good deal, or is the quality going to be poor? Most other ones I've seen start above $200. Thanks.

Seat Covers - Wet Okole vs Cover King

coverking problem I ordered Coverking seat covers through Costco for front and middle row of my 4Runner (with 3rd row seats). There are some minor problems with the front seat covers but the cover for the 60% rear back was completely wrong--could not be installed at all because of the pattern...

    Spacer recommendations?

steering stops Perhaps they weren't welded, but they were the point of contact that stopped the steering arm from turning the wheel any more and were identified by an experienced toyota mechanic (though no experience with 4th gen 4Runners) as the stops. There was no obvious way to adjust them...

    Spacer recommendations?

steering stops I checked out the steering stops with some experienced friends and they seem to be welded in place and non-adjustable. Do you have experience with the 4th gen 4runners on this? Thanks.

Running 285's with factory spare on V6 4x4...can it be done????

spare tire Chalk it up to ignorance and naivete . . . Actually, a friend helped me test it with his 33" tire before I took the plunge.

Pictures of 285/70 17 Spare It's hard to convey how it fits, but here is what I could do.

Running 285's with factory spare on V6 4x4...can it be done????

wheels I'll try to get some pictures of the spare. I wanted to keep my stock wheels because of those pressure sensing valves; and the 285 mm tires are still within spec for 7.5" rims. The clearance in the front wheel wells is tight, but they do clear both the front and rear (including the...

VSC, ATRAC compatible with larger tires?

larger tires I have many of the same questions regarding my lifted 07 4Runner with 32.7" tires. One potential solution is a speedo calibrator. I am looking into the wiring which may be a bit complicated, but according to one thread on this site, is doable--...

Running 285's with factory spare on V6 4x4...can it be done????

fitting a 33" tire underneath I should say that it took a bit of finesse to get it to seat properly without hitting the bar (whose name I forgot) that is next to the rear axle. It goes up all the way with a little tilt to one side. Since tires of the same metric dimensions are not exactly...

Running 285's with factory spare on V6 4x4...can it be done????

33" spare I recently lifted my 07 V6 4x4 and put on 285/70 R17 tires, including the spare. The spare just barely fits, but it works.

spacers Thanks for the reply. What make of spacers do you have?

    Spacer recommendations?

I have a 3" lift on my 07 V6 4x4 and put on 285/70 R17 tires. The tires clear the front wheel wells and mud flaps--just barely (haven't taken it off road yet to see what happens), but they do hit the frame. I don't want to give up my wheels or tires, but am concerned about adding spacers...

    speedo calibration

wheel spacers You are right about mud flap trimming. When the suspension is not compressed, it just barely clears, but it will rub under compression. An easy fix that I will do once I solve the main problem of the wheel hitting the frame, is to use a strip of bent metal to hold the mud flaps...

    speedo calibration

wheel spacers I've heard that wheel spacers create their own problems, but that may be the way I have to go. I really don't want to throw away my OEM wheels with the air pressure sensing valves.
