    Battery problem with 2014 LTD

I agree about the Duracell / East Penn, we too have one in our boat. I wanted the Duracell 24F AGM from Batteries Plus but availability was scarce and that scared me off. Glad it did since I don't want AGM as it turns out, based on above. Got the oil changed today and my mechanic said the...

    Battery problem with 2014 LTD

Thanks for replies. I actually feel better about passing on the AGM as I'd prefer not to do electrical mods to the 4R at this time and was unaware of the need. It was cold here last week but our garage is heated and I keep it about 50 deg all winter so battery chill isn't an issue mostly. The...

    Battery problem with 2014 LTD

To answer questions and offer more info: I called the nearest Toyota dealer, they have a battery that's $150 and has a 2 yr replacement warranty plus some prorated years. Maybe I should have bit but I didn't, I understand they use Johnson Controls which also make the Everstart line for...

    Battery problem with 2014 LTD

Thanks, I checked this AM and it didn't seem to have lost any volts overnight. 12.4 So I started the engine and turned on all the accessories and it was 13.95, but slowly dropped to about 13.5 +/- after 10 minutes running. Thinking alternator I called my mechanic and talked to him. He said...

    Battery problem with 2014 LTD

Hi All, 10/22 I replaced my 3.5 yr old flooded cell 24f battery from Costco ($85) with a new one ($135). Well since day one it never "sounded" as strong as the old one when cranking. Three days ago it had a bit of struggle starting, which I just kind of dismissed. Next day, I got the "click...

    Another raptor lights question

I used the INJ 10a under the hood, but the add-a-fuse comes with a 15. That's 25a in serial as I understand, this seems inappropriate. I've heard to just use the 15a and pull the 10a, is that correct? I want to get the fuse right. thanks

    Clear bra kits

I had mine done with Expel Ultimate June 2014 (60k miles ago) by a local renowned detail shop. Now they have Ultimate Plus. Claims they are self healing... maybe. I had the front clip + full hood and went back for the tailgate about 3 months later. Tailgate was picking up grit and road...

    Another raptor lights question

Thanks I like the idea of the splitter, I need to research. The kit came with a 15A fuse pre-installed, IDK why that size fuse would be used.

    Another raptor lights question

I know opinions are split on these, but I got a quality set cheap on Amazon and decided to try them.... I've seen most all the wiring vids etc. I'm hoping to do it a bit different. FYI, I have a 14 Limited. I am original owner. I want to use the add-a-fuse to tap into the fog lights. That's...

    Horn Recommendations for Limited

I've always lived in IL but have driven in many states. Extensively in some. You are RIGHT there are crap drivers everywhere, however... Chicago area has the most self-centered drivers in my experience. That translates into "nasty" drivers, not just "crap" drivers. WI has "crap" drivers, but...

    HOW-TO: grease your drive shaft

thanks - clearest explanation/HOW-TO I've seen so far, IMO.... Doing this on my 14 LE, it has never been done even @ dealer when they did oil changes and included interval services.

    Horn Recommendations for Limited

Yeah pretty much I agree on the air horn thing, there are times I'd love to have it - and blow people out of their skin - but BOY one would have to exercise great restraint, or one could really get oneself in trouble with that kind of noise power.

    Horn Recommendations for Limited

Do you mean wire them in a secondary, independent horn setup, or integrate an (additional?) relay with the existing wiring? If you added the relay, any chance you can provide a drawing? Even a crude one would help as I've no idea how I'd add the relay to existing setup. THANKS.

    Horn Recommendations for Limited

Driving on expressways in the Chicago metro area including I-90 downtown and I-294 Bypass which has one of the heaviest traveled roads in the country for semi traffic. The existing 4runner horn is pretty much inaudible in these conditions. The diesel din and wind noise mostly drown it out. On...
