Another raptor lights question

I know opinions are split on these, but I got a quality set cheap on Amazon and decided to try them....

I've seen most all the wiring vids etc. I'm hoping to do it a bit different. FYI, I have a 14 Limited. I am original owner.

I want to use the add-a-fuse to tap into the fog lights. That's a 15A fuse. Is this a good idea? Just wondering if anyone has done this. Thanks.

the raptor lights take less then a watt.. for the most part, you should be more then fine, you could also get a h11 splitter and do it at the fog light.

Thanks I like the idea of the splitter, I need to research. The kit came with a 15A fuse pre-installed, IDK why that size fuse would be used.

You can see other threads on this.
You should only use the size fuse rated for the lights draw. A 15 amp fuse will offer you no protection.
I think I have a 1 or 2 amp fuse in mine.

I used the INJ 10a under the hood, but the add-a-fuse comes with a 15. That's 25a in serial as I understand, this seems inappropriate. I've heard to just use the 15a and pull the 10a, is that correct? I want to get the fuse right. thanks

How much amp draw is on your grill lights?

That’s the size of the fuse you need to protect that circuit. If you go higher, you are not protecting the circuit if it shorts.

Tap into the the made circuit side of a switched circuit and then protect your light circuit with only the amp draw rated fuse for the lights you are installing.

Does that make any sense?
