How to access tailgate lift controls?

Thanks, I was wondering if the whole thing was held on by snap clips or something. Good thing I did not start prying away.

How to access tailgate lift controls?

After this winter's ice melt solution I have noticed a little rust stain coming around the bezel for the license plate mount on the rear door. The lift handle is getting a little sticky too. I want to take it apart and clean/lube the inside of the rear tailgate but can't see any screws or...

    Ugly Timing Belt System.

Water pump $130, timing belt $60, tensioner and idler pulley $165, thermostat $30, antifreeze $14. It was a private garage, no stealership. I could have done better shopping for the parts myself, but he has always treated me fair enough. He spent extra time scraping the melted belt off the...

    Ugly Timing Belt System.

I have had a chattering noise in the front of the engine for a little while but could not pinpoint it. Could not tell if the timing belt had ever been changed, should be changed every 70k, odometer at 225k. Coming home from the gunshow a week ago Sunday nite, I heard a noise and the temp gauge...

    Removal of Roof Rack Slats

Mine has scratches where they rubbed the paint on the top of the 4Runner, but I still have them on. I don't think mine has been moved in the 190k before me.

Lost my spare tire crank tool

A 2' long 3/8" inch extension and a ratchet works like a charm.

    P0120 code again???

I replaced the TPS and it run worse. I have since put the old one back and cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body internally. The TPS does not get dirty, it is just a switch. Something else is causing the code and the computer is seeing it as a TPS error.

    P0120 code again???

Been good all summer. Fought the code last spring, put in the new sensor, fought it for a few weeks, took it back and put the old one in. Cleaned the MAF sensor and throttle body and have been good all summer. Today, first cool day, check engine light comes on and P0120 again. What gives.

All Praise to the Rack Bushing Repair Kit..

My local dealership for Toyota could not even get me a master key for the truck when I bought it. Parts guy seemed too busy to even bother ordering it and I decided not to bother him any more. He did have the nylon washer for the oil pan nut for $3 a piece. The parts were Energy Suspension...

All Praise to the Rack Bushing Repair Kit..

I have fought the sloppy, wobbly front end for almost 2 years now. Balancing the tires, aligning the front end all seemed to help for a while. But lately, I have had more steering wheel shimmy, tires tracking the diamond grooved pavement, and sloppy handling on gravel roads. Braking brought...

    Weird Fuel Gauge Problem

My gauge went south last winter, left me on the side of the road showing either 1/4 or between 1/2 and 1/4 tank. I now use the trip odometer religiously. I always tank up around 250 to 300 miles.

    Air Shocks, anyone ?!?

Air Shocks are so 70's, I had them on my ole 67 Cougar with Cragers and 60's on the back end. If you did not air them up, the tires would rub. Looks like they still make them, Gabriel HiJackers on Jc Whitney. They were always good for adjustable ride and towing.
