    4th Gen Suspension Options/FAQ

I ended up getting a 2018 Tacoma TRD off-road suspension for $120 with only 3200 Miles on it. The fronts are installed. I’m weighing options to lift the rear 1”. I do tow a trailer so slightly heavier springs would be nice in addition to providing a 1” lift out back. Hmm

    4th Gen Suspension Options/FAQ

I didn’t notice any data on the 5th gen rear springs into a 4th gen. Does anyone know the approximate spring rate difference and the amount of lift they may provide?

    Tacoma Suspension Swap

I picked up the suspension. It was 2018 Tacoma TRD off-road suspension. The fronts were still fully assembled and they bolted right in. They have exactly 2.5” of lift on my 2006 SR5 2wd. Just thought I’d let you all know.

    Road manner with auto locker?

Im driving a 2wd SR5 and would like to do the next step for light off-roading. Currently I have a 2.5” lift and Terra Grapplers G2s on 265/70/17. I want to lock up the rear wheels now because I know it adds tons of off-road grip and I’m examining my options. 1. Auto locker like an Aussie...

    Octanejunkie's 4runner Journal - 2WD

    1. Did you install the Aussie locker yourself? 2. Is your 4runner a daily driver? 3. Are there any downsides to the Aussie locker? I have a 2wd 4th gen that is like to make more capable.

Lift and Tire Central (pics)... Post 'em Up!

I’m ore here too and have a similar suspension to John above. My runner is only 2wd so I’m not going to do much else to it. 2006 SR5 2wd with 2018 Tacoma TRD off-road front suspension (strut/spring assemblies). I left the rear alone for now. I want to probably lift it 3/4” sometime...

What did you do with your 4runner today?

I did an alignment today. Now I’m all set up. Hopefully.

    A different Alignment problem

I agree with a John above. It kind of sounds like one of your tie rod or tie rod ends was damaged and now it won’t hold toe. Perhaps have the rods and the ends checked. Like taken off, remove ends, check threads.

    Clean spot on knuckle/spindle

I found this thread. Same issue. I wonder if he solved it. I don’t see that wear on my tire though. But the tires have only about 100 Miles on them. I’m considering grinding that high spot off. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/233867-05-inside-front-left-tire-rubbing.html#post3004871

    Clean spot on knuckle/spindle

Both sides have the same clean spot. That also concerned me. Both sides. Same bump on the spindle is the only clean area. I don’t see why the tire shop would have cleaned both sides off. I’m stumped.
