The housing where the engine side ujoint comes out to meet the other ujoint. It was right inside that housing that the squeak was coming from. A little white grease in there. Didn't stop the noise really. I was hoping something that simple would work.
Odd problem. My 99 4cyl 4runner started making a loud squeaky noise when I put it in reverse. The faster I backed-up - the faster and louder the chirp. All heads would turn to see where the noise was coming from.
We find out that it's coming from the transmission directly below the drivers...
Red Rocks! Gotta love it.
Any idea where I could get something to match what you have? An add-on piece? I'm getting too much water thrown up from the wheel. Thanks!
I have a basic 99 4cyl and am trying to find a set of OEM mud flaps that go in front of the rear wheel. Do they map such a think? I thought I saw one on here but can't find it. I have mud flaps in the rear and in the front and removed the running boards. Now I need something to block the...

b. Drive door is open ( all other doors are closed)
c. Driver door is unlocked (other door locks don't matter)
2. Insert the key into the ignition (don't turn it) and pull it out.
3. Perform these...
I was idling my 2.7L '99 4runner and put both of my back windows up at the same causing a drop in RPMs - is this normal? It happened with the tailgate window as well. Odd?
I think the guy who did my last oil change (to the good purple stuff) cranked down on the drain bolt so hard that it created a "dent" where the bolt goes in. Now, the bolt is leaking about 4 or 5 drips a day. I know I could wait three months to change it again but the question is - HOW DO I STOP...
Mechanic I was talking to said instead of removing the crank case and everything else to clean gunk, just use a quart and drive for 5 minutes then change the oil and filter.
Ever hear of this?
My truck had 65K miles when I bought her (99 4cyl, 2.7L) and I have no idea how it was treated...
Someone backed into me very slightly and a noticeable dent is now in my rear, chrome bumper (99 4R). Do I need to replace the whole thing or is there a trick to pulling it out. No chrome came off. You can see the dent from the curving of the reflection. Thanks!
