Ruined '06 Back Bumper in SF...Need Body Shop

Thanks for the advice, guys. Knowing that this repair wasn't going to be cheap, I headed down to the scene of the crime a few days ago with a camera and a measuring tape. Sure enough, the BMW 745i that parks behind me had damage to its opposite fender - right at 32", where mine was. With this...

Ruined '06 Back Bumper in SF...Need Body Shop

Guys, Parked my car overnight in an enclosed parking garage, came back in the morning, and noticed that my back bumper was completely mutilated by some San Francisco jack*ss. :bash: The wounds are pretty deep, and I want it done right so I'm gonna have to suck it up and get it done. Looks...

    Reduction in Brake Dust

I totally agree...of course, it doesn't hurt that the 'Runner's wheels have a fairly straightforward design that's easy to run a rag around...

Argh...I found a really tiny paint ding on my new baby

Agreed, Pipspeak! And since we're speaking of car obsession and because you're from San Francisco you'll appreciate this... I once saw (at Fillmore & California) a guy with a new Honda get out of his car, open his trunk, and pull out a one of these bright yellow "pool noodles"... I thought...

    '06 Sunroof Ticking Sound

Guys, There's been a lot on this forum about the "infamous sunroof rattle" and I've heard of various fixes on that problem such as installing nylon washers and plastic tubing on the wind deflector bar running through the track. I have a rattle coming from the sunroof, but it's more of a...

One more question on the 2006 sport

In addition to the increased cost of the JBL system, keep in mind it's much easier (and cheaper) to rip out the bare-bones stock system than the JBL, if you think you'll EVER consider adding nav or a new head unit. Let me tell you, though...the stock unit SUCKS...so in no event would I...

What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

I paid $33,000 for my 2006 V8 4x4 Sport Edition. Was able to get the 2.9% APR also, so I feel like I got a very fair deal, considering where I live...where EVERYTHING related to cars is more expensive. Was also pretty happy with the dealer, so I didn't feel that bad about helping them keep the...

Any more young guns out there?

23... I HATE that when I tell people I traded in my coupe for a new 'Runner they ask me why I bought a "family car". :bash: Am I the only one who can't stand that!?

Get a 2006 or wait for the 2007 model?

If you like the '06, I say get it! Spend the time between now and July reading through this forum and you'll find yourself even more excited about finally getting your new 'Runner then. I originally told myself I was going to wait for the '07 but couldn't hold off any longer after seeing all...

    Quick Question about waxing

Waxed mine for the first time this weekend with Meguiar's NXT Generation liquid wax...only took about 40 minutes! In fact, the washing took way longer (after all the rain we've had in No. CA) Amazing how smooth the paint now feels! No better way to spend your spare time than waxing your baby...:D

Strange Brake Pedal Vibration - Normal?

Pretty sure it's normal...I also feel the vibration from time to time. My other car does the same thing when it first hits 4-5MPH after starting, but never after that. It's the ABS system testing itself, and I'd imagine it's probably the same sort of thing with the 'Runner.

    06 Sport + Yakima Rack

Guys, Just got the Yakima LowRider system installed today. It's on there pretty solid! I had been concerned about excessive wind noise, but surprisingly, it's not all that bad (especially with the moonroof shade closed). There is an occasional low-pitched rumble coming from the roof of the...
