Trans Cooler Mount: Need Kansas 5th Gens for New Product Fitment

I'm planning to install mine this weekend (if I feel well enough). I ordered some spring action hose clamps from Toyota to link to the OEM transmission return line (those arrive on Monday this week). The Toyota camps are Not required, but I wanted to match the style in the engine compartment to...

    2021 Key fob issue

Any resolution? My wife's 2024 has the same issue. For hers, when changing the beep volume or door unlock action from the head unit, it deactivates the remote receiver on the 4runner. My wife's new 4runner with less than 200 miles on it has been at the shop for over a month as they look for a...

Trans Cooler Mount: Need Kansas 5th Gens for New Product Fitment

The kit arrived yesterday. I ordered the Iconic mount with the Hayden 698 cooler. I am prepping the kit for an install this weekend. I added a push nut bolt retainer to hold the spacer, though it isn't needed (just makes things a little easier). I also added a washer to use between the nut and...

Trans Cooler Mount: Need Kansas 5th Gens for New Product Fitment

teotwaki, From your below picture of the elbow hose exiting the radiator. This is the point on the FJ Cruise where people tie the transmission cooler into the system. I thought you tied into the system at this point.

teotwaki, I think you might have plumbed the cabling the way I was considering. Are these the transmission hose/lines near the top of the radiator on the passenger side once the transmission cooler has been added?

Trans Cooler Mount: Need Kansas 5th Gens for New Product Fitment

I have an order in for the mount and Hayden 698 cooler. When it arrives, I will install and post pictures. I should be able to put it together without removing the bumper/grill, but I am considering for more room.

I agree, the results listed on post 45 are good. With the placement of the transmission cooler, it gets more than enough air to cool while driving, and distance between the radiator and transmission cooler isn't. Limiting the distance between the transmission cooler and radiator is of primary...

That Toyota spring type hose clamp locks open. I think I could get a set of needle nose vice grips in there to open it. I should be able to slide the clamp out of the way then. The slightly tricky part could be getting the hose off the tube.

Your picture of this is what caused me to ask if the transmission cooler could be mounted to the other side. That bottom barb looks like it would have to contend with the radiator mounting bolt, but I couldn't tell for sure.

Thank you. I saw your pictures, but I wasn't able to tell exactly how you tied into the system. I could tell that you ran your hoses to the passenger side of the radiator, but I was unsure how you tied into the system. Your post #43 made it look like you might have tied into the system the...

Trans Cooler Mount: Need Kansas 5th Gens for New Product Fitment

Hello all. I really like the idea of this transmission cooler. I have some questions for others before I order though. I like the way the cooler mounts on the passenger side (eliminated the need to relocate the horn), but it looks like it would change the way it should be plumbed to the...

Back in a 4Runner... didn't take long ;) Pic attached

I sold my 3rd gen 1997 4Runner in 2015. Last year was my first opportunity to get another, and I bought a 5th Gen 2020 year model. I sure do like these trucks. They have a lot of character.

Not new to 2002 T4R, but new to the forum

I'm new to the forum as well, though not new to 4Runners. I bought a Gen 3 in 2012 that I had to sell in 2015. I still miss that truck dearly. I now how a 5th Gen TRD offroad Premium. While it is probably better in every way than my 5th gen I still miss my old 3rd gen.

    Headlight comparison stock vs others

This is a really great resource. This really has helped me in my journey as I contemplate upgrading the headlights on my 2020 4Runner. I'm a little disappointed with the factory H11 bulbs. I upgeaded to H9 bulbs, and while better, I have been considering OEM LED assemblies.
