Hate To Let It Go, but....

Thanks, will do! I already have two people wanting to come drive it from my local CL post last night. This is killing me...just have to tell myself I can probably get another some day. We are just not able to justify an "extra" vehicle at this point. We rack up miles on our DDs, and the 4R...

    Where is the fuel filter?

I love deals like that. I bought a starter from Auto Zone a few years ago for an old beater Chevy P/U. The boyfriend of the girl helping me happened to be in the store visiting her. He said he appreciated me being polite and respectful...and put the starter on for me in their parking lot. I...

    Where is the fuel filter?

So....188k would probably be a good time to start!

    Where is the fuel filter?

In tank or out? How often is it supposed to be changed?

Redline SI-1, Seafoam, or leave it alone?

Any other possible negatives besides the plugs and sensors? Causing leaks, etc? How much will the sensors cost me? How will I know they are bad--service engine code? Will it improve my gas mileage? Just thinking, if it is running reliably now, is it worth doing all of that?

Redline SI-1, Seafoam, or leave it alone?

I have a 98 Limited with 188k miles. I've only owned it for the last 4,000 miles. It starts and runs great, but I do notice it idling a little rough sometimes. It seems to have been well maintained, but was owned by a single woman who I doubt ever used any type of fuel treatment. Could it...

    What is causing this? [thud]

That was it! Lots of grease for the yokes and the thud is completely gone. Thanks to all!

    Towing 6x12 Uhaul with 2000 ltd 2DR RWD 2500miles

I agree. I have new brakes and rotors, but pulling my 2200 lb pop-up camper on relatively flat terrain makes stopping interesting. I can't imagine crossing the Rockies without some extra braking power. Re: the tran--listen to the solid advice above...advice that I will be heeding as soon as...

    What is causing this? [thud]

Thanks for all of the replies. I had the rear diff changed a couple of months ago and it appears good. And, no, it probably isn't a full second after I completely stop...just seems that long because it is disconcerting to hear/feel anything after the wheels stop. I did check though and...

Run ATF thru New Cooler and New Radiator?

Okay, thanks. Yes, the ATF looks good, but I'm an overkill type of guy when it comes to fluids/maintenance, so I'll definitely do a drain and fill. I love this vehicle. First 4R I've had and want it to keep going. I would replace our newer cars with another 3 gen 4R if it wasn't for the gas...

Run ATF thru New Cooler and New Radiator?

'98 V6 4wd Limited. 188,000 miles. Just purchased a few months ago, but seems to have been very well maintained. Very little rust anywhere and all of the fluids looked good. However, I'm now using to pull a pop-up camper (about 2,200 lbs). After reading the many threads on here, I'm...

    What is causing this? [thud]

I should have also added that when I shift from Park to Drive (or Reverse) that I often have the same thud...again, it sure doesn't seem like the transmission, but?

    What is causing this? [thud]

4wd. I just had it at a Toyota dealer a couple hundred miles ago, would they not do that as part of the normal oil/lube? Is there an easy way to tell me how to do it?

    What is causing this? [thud]

My '98 (V6 Auto) runs, drives, shifts like it is brand new...except for one thing--When coming to a stop, about one second after the wheels completely stop, there is thud felt underneath as if something is a little loose the momentum threw it forward. Same thing when I take off...a second...
