Good catch. The timing chain on my 1999 BMW 540i jumped the tracks yet somehow the engine didn't self destruct. It was such a traumatic experience that I know think "timing chain" even when the car has a belt.

Wow! You guys were right! I had previously played with the FADE/BAL settings with no luck. I tried again today and BAM! the radio works great again! Still sounds decent for a 1997 truck. I love these cars. Rock solid reliable. Thanks gentlemen! Great tip!
