after letting my wife sit at the back seat passenger site, she felt the rattling noise comes from the hatch door. we used to slam the door as it is pretty heavy. but still no clue what the cause is. lowering the window reduces noise. but i am not sure if it is not because the road noise covers it.

my 2005 sports edition has rattling too. it sounds like it is from the back seat passenger side, then i tried to unload everything from the door, tighten the seat belts, even tried to unload stuff of trunk, but it never goes away. it sounds like something is loosen. any hint?

Contacted and provided all the info including CC number to the OP a month ago to purchase an extended warranty for my 05'4runner sport. Called him twice to inquire the status of the purchase, got no real response till today. I don't know why a purchase of warranty will take that long!
