Too small of a sample size to determine correlation / causation. As to your last comment, all manufacturers change things occasionally. The issue begins when we take parts from a different model/year/generation and swap them onto our vehicle. The change in specs causes no headaches to them...

Yeah but the original ATKO's wore like iron, got 75k out of a set on a Nissan D21 (hated them in rain, snow, etc though).

The problem I have is wrapping my head around why the payload in either case does not match GVWR-curb weight. That is how everyone else does it, Toyota seems to just pull numbers out of nowhere...

A payload of around 1000# seems really low relative to GVWR-Curb Weight. Payload should be GVWR- Curb Weight so it seems like it should be ~1500lb. If the rear locker reduces it that much, the GVWR they note should be reduced as well. Has anyone put one of these on a scale stock just to see...

OK, so something doesn't add up to me here... Toyota lists curb weight for a TRD ORP at 4750 and GVWR at 6300 so how is payload only ~880? What am I missing here?
