    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

Thanks! Good to know! I wish there was a way to know exactly which build date of 2006 4Runners had the new gasket. Many 2006s were built in late 2005, presumably with the original faulty gasket.

    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

Did Toyota give you any indication that there are new gaskets that fix the problem, or are they installing new gaskets of the same design that failed in the first place?

    *** V6 Head Gasket Action Request ***

I noticed that there are very few 2006/2007 on this list, and no 2008/2009s. Has anyone determined if this is something that was definitely fixed in the later models with an updated gasket, or some other modification?

Wondering about 4.0 V6 and Head Gasket @#6 "issue"

Has anyone here had the head gasket/cylinder #6 issue with an '06 or later? It sounds like this was an issue with earlier models and may have been fixed sometime in '05?

Need parts? Just got a steal on a donor/parts 98 limited Limited,

Need driver's side weatherstripping I need a driver's side door weatherstripping in good condition. Mine's torn where I drag my feet across it while getting out of the car. If your's is in good condition (no cracks or tears), let me know how much with shipping (parcel post is fine) to...

plastic center caps are fading , real ugly...

Just painted my center caps I actually just did this yesterday. Like many others, I used Duplicolor brand paint and prep wipes (got mine at Pep Boys). First, I stripped the remaining paint off the centercaps with brake cleaner. It’s cheap, it melts right through paint, and leaves no residue...

    05 Undercarriage Rust

My '98 4Runner spent the first 2 years of it's life in SoCal, and the last 10 years in Washington State, and not a spec of rust on the undercarriage. (I do have one or two stone chips on the topside that need some attention, though).

Question- 3rd Gen 4Runner Roof Rack Rehab

Blitzkrieg - Thanks very much for the picture. It was very helpful. Although that is what your flat bars are attached to, what you picture looks exactly like the nut that my raised cross bars are attached to, while my flat bar nuts look completely different. I suspect that your rack has all 10...

Question- 3rd Gen 4Runner Roof Rack Rehab

Hmmm. That seems odd. I went to the Toyota dealership used lot today and although they didn't have a 3rd Gen 4Runner on the lot, they had a Honda Pilot with exactly the same roof racks (except the end caps had screws in them. Oddly enough, my roof has plastic nuts in exactly those positions that...

Question- 3rd Gen 4Runner Roof Rack Rehab

I just realized that the raised crossbars are threaded into the track so you'd need to remove the tracks to see how those nuts are mounted. Forget that! On the other hand the flat bars that sit flush with the roof are not captured in the track. You just need to unscrew one of the little bolts...

Question- 3rd Gen 4Runner Roof Rack Rehab

Well, nobody is replying. I probably should have attached one of those "question" icons on my original post but I'm not sure how to. Any chance that you check yours in the next few days? I'd appreciate it. Thanks. Yay! I figured out the "question" icon. Still don't know how to bold the title...

Question- 3rd Gen 4Runner Roof Rack Rehab

I removed my roof racks and rear air deflector to give them a thorough cleaning and/or repainting, and like a bonehead, I neglected to take notice of how the square track nuts go back into the track when I took everything apart. There are 4 nuts that retain the two raised cross-bars, and 6...
