    4Runner Back Window on Remote

It was many years ago when I connected my alarm... From what I remember, the rear window switch on the dash is disabeled when the car is off. The same as the door windows. That's why I had to run wire to the tailgate.

Double DIN HU with USB and Hard Drive

The unit does support ACdrive. But you have to use the included software and I think convert your mp3's. I haven't install the software. I just use a drive with mp3's on it. I also unplug my HD and plug in a flash drive as a simple way to check out some new songs.

Double DIN HU with USB and Hard Drive

The Kenwood unit does read folder names. I have my music sorted in folders by artist name, then album name. The 3 line display is configurable. One setup I wanted that it does not do is to show tag and play time together. I have it showing: Song Title / Artist Folder Name Time of Day or...

Double DIN HU with USB and Hard Drive

I rarely use my heater in South Florida. But on the few days a year I do, I plan on sticking a piece of black foam rubber in the tube to block the vent. Having access to over 3000 songs is awesome. Most of time I leave it in ramdom. If I'm not in the mood for a song, I hit track up and...

Double DIN HU with USB and Hard Drive

No cass deck. I don't know why it's so large. I also thought, why is the display the same size as a single DIN? I can still see it, just like a single DIN, but why not make it larger with all the room on the front? I still think the DPX701 is a great HU. It has alot of nice features.

Double DIN HU with USB and Hard Drive

I just wrapped up the first part of my stereo upgrade. I choose the Kenwood DPX-701 for many reasons, one being the USB input. The HU was an easy install requiring no extra trim kit. The HU came with a trim kit that worked well in the 4Runner. I used a wired PAC Steering Wheel Interface...

    4Runner Back Window on Remote

Another thing I found out..... If you lock the doors with a key (or wires connected to the key switch), then the unlock button on the inside of the door is disabled by the ECU. So when connecting an alarm into the door lock system, I suggest you use the key switch wires, not the lock/unlock...

    Double Din Radios?

Do a Google search for Double Din. You'll get stuff like this. I'm looking at the Kenwood DPX-701. I plan on just swapping the HU. Then maybe later changing the speakers. Check out the PAC SWI stearing wheel interfaces.

    Pioneer Bluetooth Option

PAC makes a few steering wheel control modules. The SWI-PS works with Pioneer's that have "wired remote" capability. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-8d6Nd0gdwyW/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=750&I=127SWIPS&search=swi The SWI-X works with any "wireless remote" capable HU...

    4Runner Back Window on Remote

I now have back window control on my remote.:D I ran 3 wires from the tailgate (rear ECU) to the alarm system (behind glovebox). These wires are connected to the tailgate key lock, at the ECU. (LG-B) - (GY-R) - (V-Y) They can now control the locks and when held for over 2 seconds, raise and...

    4Runner Back Window on Remote

Thanks for the input. I will do it myself, when I figure out the beat way. The two ways I've come up with so far are: 1) Two timer modules on the tailgate key switch connected to alarm channels. 2) Window roll-up module on rear window motor connected to alarm channels. I'm not sure if #2 will...
