You can spray penetrating oil on the base of the bulb, just wipe it clean before you put it back together. Then put some dielectric grease on it once you put the new bulb in.

Did you install LED Bulbs or harness when upgrading? I've run into that problem and had to take the LED bulb out and turn it over, then things worked fine. If not try to find the wiring for the fog lamp switch and make sure that hasn't been tapped into.

Good idea on getting rid of the metal caps, not sure if the valve stem is aluminum, but steel and aluminum do not like each other. I've found that out trying to remove rear wipers from the hatch on different vehicles. The OEM manufacturer always puts an aluminum insert in the plastic wiper arm...

Ya its definitely just clipped under the headlamps, because to remove the headlamps the bumper has to be removed first.

I also have a slight rattle at idle, It goes away when you tap the gas, I'll have to check the heat shields and see if that will take care of the problem.

Sounds like 4wd actuator on the transfer case, had this happen with mine and caught it before I bought it. Its at Toyota now getting the part replaced. The transfer case has to be opened up. It's listed as 12 hours labor plus parts, so I'm guessing it will cost the dealer between $12-1500 to get...

Sounds like the Wiper switch on the steering column needs to be replaced. Its the complete arm that is used for wiper functions, it is a pretty simple job. Toyota part # 8465214642
