Is your noise tranny/axles or engine? You might have the "Toyota Tick." Lifter noise.

When I've been running for a few minutes from cold, I've been hearing a rattling/scratching (no grinding) noise from what I thought was the right front wheel. Now I swear it might be the front gear box, even though I'm in 2WD. Thoughts? Experiences?
