I gotta noise

When I've been running for a few minutes from cold, I've been hearing a rattling/scratching (no grinding) noise from what I thought was the right front wheel. Now I swear it might be the front gear box, even though I'm in 2WD.

Thoughts?

Experiences?

I too have a mystery noise thats making me really nervous....mines a clackity sound that comes on when she warms up, I've tried and tried to pinpoint it with my golfclub shaft stethoscope but can't nail it down.....hoping its an exhaust leak somewhere! let us know what you find!

Is your noise tranny/axles or engine? You might have the "Toyota Tick." Lifter noise.

Mine only happens when I'm rolling. I can't make my wife ride up there. She isn't going for that.

SO. Holy transfer case, Batman!

Transfer case damn near out of oil. Definitely explains the noise but even after I corrected the problem, I have concerns:
The truck ran fine and the noise appeared suddenly. There is no tell-tale puddle underneath after all of these days, so I would have to think that the oil left rather quickly. Where did it go?

Everything is quiet and smooth so I press on but.........

Lifter? It's common in all Yotas. The Toyota Tick, I call it.
