no the idle is not erractic......the rattle is. I'm going to check the pulgs just in case....they probably need to be replaced anyway.

The truck has 54K on it. I thought of just turning the idle up but when I compared it to my other one it seems to be the same. What is strange is its erratic.

Thank you for the welcome! Yes I checked everything.....compared it to my 99 just incase. One dealer did look at the heat shileds and adjusted one. That did not fix the problem. The other said they looked at it and thought it was a baffle in the muffler that was causing the exhaust to rattle...
