General Grabber at2 vs. Goodyear SilentArmor

I was kind of surprised the Nitto Grappler AT's cost less than the SilentArmors. Maybe they are worth a look over anything else? I haven't heard much about them from people...

General Grabber at2 vs. Goodyear SilentArmor

Man... there is definitely not an 100% AT tire that everyone agrees is amazing! HaHa... A lot of it depends on people's experiences, weather, region, ect... But, I think there are a good handful of tires that make the top 5 or so... Since the grabbers at2 are backordered 6-8 weeks.. I will...

General Grabber at2 vs. Goodyear SilentArmor

Awe crap! Many of you got my hopes up for the Grabber AT2's and every single seller that I looked at online is now backordered.... Not sure if I can wait the 6-9 weeks! But maybe they are worth the wait if they're better than many of the other ATs!?

General Grabber at2 vs. Goodyear SilentArmor

Thanks for all of the feedback... I really wanted to give the Grabber AT2 a shot.. but TireRack has them on back order and said it might be 8-10 weeks before they arrive. By then, winter would be over. HaHa. Maybe I will take a look at other sellers.... Anyone have any advice on another AT tire...

General Grabber at2 vs. Goodyear SilentArmor

Thanks for the input.. looks like everyone has had good luck with the Grabber AT2. So, I think that's what I will go for. My current Dean SXT Mud Terrains do fine in the warm weather... but suck horribly on slick roads. So, I might as well go with a all around tire since I dont off-road that much.

General Grabber at2 vs. Goodyear SilentArmor

I saw that... That is why I am going to go with 265/70/16 tire. It is the "recommended" size for my 4Runner anyways. And this size comes in a lighter ply and comes with the snowflake severe weather stamp.

General Grabber at2 vs. Goodyear SilentArmor

So... I am looking for a good all around a/t tire for my 4Runner. I have narrowed it down between the Grabber at2 or GY SilentArmor. Mainly because they both have decent reviews and have the snowflake/mountain symbol that states they are "good"/legal for winter traction. The Grabbers are about...

Winter vs. All Season - Opinions

Thanks very much everyone for all the feedback... I have some mixed reviews/ideas on everything too. It all depends on the situation, driver, ect.... Mainly, I know that these mud terrains I have now suck on ice/packed snow. I can go as slow as 10 mph and slowly stop at a stop sign and they will...

Winter vs. All Season - Opinions

I second that... these dumb SXT haven't done much for me in the winter.. I know I will be happy with these winter tires. The only thing is that we usually drive my girlfriends car with winter studded tires during the winter - since it gets better gas mileage. And the 4runner does mainly in town...

Winter vs. All Season - Opinions

Thanks for the input.. on most winters I would like to try these studless winter tires.... I can't seem to tell if my 4runner just sucks on packed snow/ice or if it's these SXT Mud Terrains.... I think I would like to got with Goodyear's DuraTracs. They seem to have good reviews for an...

Winter vs. All Season - Opinions

Hello, So, I recently order a set of "MichelinLatitude X-Ice Xi" winter tires. I currently am running Les Schwab's Dean SXT Mud Terrains (which they claim work great in the winter, but I have had bad experiences with them). I am down in Klamath Falls, Oregon and we tend to have a 50/50 winter...

    225/70/16 on 4runner?

Hello, I know there are 100 tire questions on here... my 4Runner recommends 265/70/16 tires... It is currently running 265/75/16 Mud Terrain tires. Les Schwabs claims these mud terrain are great in the snow. But it feels like I am a hockey puck when its slick. I found a set of studded tires...

    Winter Tires

Hello, I have a 1999 4Runner. I am having a lot of issues with sliding when I am on icy roads (even in AWD). I am currently using Dean Mud Terrain tires from Les Schwabs. My girlfriends little Toyota Yaris seems to out perform mine! Although she does have studded tires. Is it just a common...

    Warning Brake Light on

I just changed one of my rear axle shafts out in my 1999 4runner. I had to switch over the brakes and everything. Now, I am having an issue with the brake light on. I filled it back up with brake fluid. I have attempted to cleed the brakes, however it does seem to pump up to pressure anymore...

    Rear Axle Shaft Replacement

haha. Oh yes. Just the axle shaft. I thought there was something crucial I was missing for a second. So... after I get the axle, am I going to have to pay a shop to switch out the bearings and ABS ring, ect?
