Well, the time has come to part ways with my T4R. I need money for school and a laptop, and the added expense of owning a home, and 2 vehicles has now officially overcome me... So I must sell my beloved 4 Runner... It's a '96 4x4, 4-Cyl manual transmission model with 183k almost entirely...

The tires were rotated and balanced about 2 weeks ago, about a week before the shaking started... The truck drives straight, although I haven't had an alignment done in a while... Initially, I thought the alignment could be the problem, but it only happens on acceleration, when I coast it goes...

Ok here's my situation... At 60-70mph (iirc 2500 rpm in 5th) there's a low resonance vibration throughout the cabin, at 70-80mph (iirc 3k rpm in 5th) it gets a bit more high pitched. It only happens when I accelerate. It is really bad at 2-2500 rpm, it sounds like a low resonance sub - it...

Hey thanks guys! i ended up going to the local dealer this morning and picking up the brackets, it set me back about $20 bucks. But I installed the new cd player, and this time it has a detachable face, and it sounds soo much better that the previous one. I'm going to be looking into an alarm...

Last week my pioneer cd player was stolen out of my '96 t4r. I can't remember the model #, it was a single din lowest end model that came with my truck when i bought it. Why soneone would want to steal a $70 crappy cd player is beyond me.... Anyway, I purchased a new Pioneer single din head...

I have the same truck in a '96 with a 5 spd and 157k. It is pretty slow, but you have to consider it does have 10 years of use on it. I changed the plugs/wires, and added a k/n drop in filter, it made a slight difference... I don't know if that helps...

agree on the carfax - it only shows up when someone reports it, which is rare if ever... it's only use is to tell where the vehicle was titled at...
