Are you sure you got all the zerts? I used to get clunking right when I released the brakes after coming to a hard stop. It went away for almost a 1 year before I had to regrease. I'm sure you are experiencing the same problem as all of us. Try adding more grease in a couple weeks.

I just used Mobil 1 Synthetic grease. It works great! Going on 12months without the problem. There is no reason to spend $34 for grease. The $3 stuff works just as good.

There are two grease fittings at the slip joint. You need to look hard, or just feel around for it. They look like little stubs. They may be camoflaged from all the dirt. I had the same problem with my 98 4wd and lubing every 10K miles or so has solved the problem permenantlly. I remember...
