I have a 2016. I’m getting a squeal out of the driver side wheel. The brakes are new so I’m wondering if it’s a hub or something like that. I’ve heard cv boot tears are common. Is a torn boot covered under the Toyota platinum warranty?

I was changing my oil and noticed my drivers side rubber boot that covers the cv joint was torn. Is this something covered under factory warranty? Or do I need to replace it myself?

UPDATE: I called the Toyota warranty customer service number and they informed me that “radio updates” should in fact be a covered expense. I spoke with the service manager at my dealership and he is sending me a refund check next week.

This was my intention, but like i said, they did it without asking me. i took it in right before i made this post. I'm still shocked that the platinum warranty i purchased for over a thousand dollars doesn't cover a piddly software update. he said the factory warranty would have covered it...

the dealer told me there was a technical service bulletin on my issue and it required a software update. they moved forward with the update and charged me $55 to do so. it did seem to resolve the issue but it left a bad taste given the fact that they didn't consult me prior to doing so...

they only stated issues with the 36w sabers.

Honestly, they did not go into specifics. They just advised me against purchasing for my 2016 trail.

I'd like to do LED's in my DRL/high beams. I've been looking at the new DDM saber pro led's. it looks like these replaced the 36w saber leds. DDM told me they were getting overheating issues with the 36w version in the 4runners. is anyone running these new saber pros? likes/dislikes?

are they super bright in DRL mode or do they tone down?

when i called DDM about ordering some sabers a couple months ago, they told me they were having overheating issues in 5th gen 4Runners. does this new saber pro eliminate this issue? or should i go with the TRS morimoto kit?
