How do i get google maps through car speakers?

i couldn't find my answer in that thread. I've heard the voice guidance in google maps come through my car speakers but I've been unsuccessful in replicating that experience. i have a 2016 TEP and an iPhone X

Check the navigation settings in your google maps app. I had to turn on the "play as bluetooth phone call" switch to have the directions played over the speakers.

I have a similar problem with my Samsung S7. The voice used to come over the speakers, but doesn’t anymore. I did notice that it worked per recently while I was on a phone call though.

Double checking my settings as well.

I'm sure you know this but just in case you have to be on AUX.
