    Tokico Trekmasters. Anything else?

Well I just replaced all 4 shocks, new front/rear sway bar bushings, and two front end links (One broke off while trying to get it off). Left the original springs on, and reused the coil overs on the front. It rides fantastic! We ONLY had to cut off 4 bolts off due to rust, so it wasn't an easy...

    Stereo Install Advice

IMHO if you're using an iPhone, I wouldn't get anything these days without built-in bluetooth. I just installed this Pioneer into my dash ($129.99) Pioneer DEH-X6600BT CD receiver at Crutchfield.com And it's pretty awesome. It comes with a microphone to also take calls and use siri while...

    Tokico Trekmasters. Anything else?

251k. If your springs are soft, do they normally sag? Is there another way to tell if they are wiped out? I measured the distances from hub to fender, and they are precisely the same as they came from the factory, so I didn't think I would need to replace them. Maybe that's not a symptom...

    Tokico Trekmasters. Anything else?

According to shox.com—after placing an order for Tokicos—it seems that the past 8 mo or so, Tokico hasn't set up a new importer so everyone has drained their supply. They weren't able to locate any through their distributers. He gave me the Bilstein's 4600's for $10 more.

    Tokico Trekmasters. Anything else?

Thanks guys. I don't see anything here (or there) to dissuade me from going with Tokico shocks. I'll leave the springs in there for now since I don't have any issues in lift. I'll let you know how this works out.

    Tokico Trekmasters. Anything else?

Yes, I've done a lot of research. I can understand the warranty situation you had, but I've not heard very many negative reviews on the Tokico shocks, and the ride seems to be better suited for me. I assume you're talking about the Bilstein 5100's? I don't mind researching that more. Thanks.

    Tokico Trekmasters. Anything else?

FYI: I decided on the Tokico because I've read that the Bill's are a bit stiffer of a ride, and not necessary for my style of driving. I decided on these instead of KYB's just due to the OEM quality of these. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks guys.

    Tokico Trekmasters. Anything else?

First off, I've done a lot of research and looking for confirmation mostly. I have a '97 Limited, and I use it as a DD, but rarely any off-roading. Right now it jumps quite a bit on any small bump or even going over manhole covers. It bounces 2x cycles when pushing down on the rear bumper. I...

    headlight assembly options

I just replaced my '97 Limited with these '99 replacements. '99-02 Toyota 4Runner Headlamp Assemblies (20-5651-00, 20-5651-00) They're made of glass, fit perfectly, and look great. And roughly $82 for the pair; affordable in my mind.

When do you call it quits?

I used Por-15 on the hitch and rear section of my frame, so I'm familiar with the messy situation that can be. I'm planning on conquering the rest of it if possible. Yes, we do have a Ziebarts here, coincidentally there is one about 2 min from my place. It sounds like I'll start dealing with...

When do you call it quits?

Blanco, that was really helpful, thank you. For the Krown stuff you mentioned, is it this? T40 © Rust Inhibitor & Lubricant My frame doesn't look that good, but I think it's still salvageable if I put in the time to clean it up.

When do you call it quits?

Thanks for the advice guys. I have found a couple of decent junkers in the area. I know the rear quarter panels are not easy to replace like the front fenders are, but I may be able to cobble together a few panels from local junkers. I suppose if I were to get two more years out of this lady, I...

When do you call it quits?

Yes I have. The rear diff looks a bit uncomfortable, but the frame itself doesn't look like its about to crack.

When do you call it quits?

I have a 97 Limited with 251k on it. I've neglected it *physically* the past 2 years, and the rust has been on steroids. I'm wondering how much time to invest into doing body work on my own. It runs like a dream, and I've recently put new tire/timing belt/ tie rods into the sucker. There isn't...
