Yellow milkyness in oil fill neck / cap. Am I fackered?

Hopefully that is it! Coolant looks fine visually and levels have not dropped meaningfully. Recently semi-retired the truck when the missus got a new daily. Dedicated off-roader / ski touring camper / light towing vehicle now. We have been trying to make sure it gets up to temp as much as...

Yellow milkyness in oil fill neck / cap. Am I fackered?

:wtf: Did an oil change today and came across this fine substance in my oil filler neck and on my cap. Nothing weird in the oil when it dropped out. Nothing weird in the filter. Collant levels seem fine. Currently at 362,000KM / 225,000Miles Thoughs? Next Steps?

Rear Brake Backing Plate Source (4650360131 / 4650460091)

Hello, Does anyone have a good source to recommend for cheap Rear Brake Backing Plate (4650360131 / 4650460091) OEM or aftermarket? Cheapest I've found is $203.97 USD for the pair. Mine have rusted out and no longer support the parking brake hardware. Welded in new material but, like a tool, I...

Lower control arm install question - Alignment in 10 hours...

Currently installing a new set of MOOG lower control arms with northstar caster/camber bolts, with an alignment scheduled in 10h and big trip this weekend. The sleeves on the LCA seem extremely sloppy to me. Does anyone know if this amount of space between the bolt sleeve and LCA is normal...

Mystery broken peice - Help ID location

Thanks for the peace of mind. I wasn't able to locate an exhaust joint without a clamp so makes sense that it was just holding a sheild in a past life. Considering my heat sheilds have been flaking off one by one like a bad sunburn one by one for the last year, not suprised it gave up the...

Mystery broken peice - Help ID location

Hello, This fell in my face from the front driver's side while I was doing some prep to change lower control arms. Does anyone know if it was originally mounted to anything to help hold the downpipe or just clamping the exhaust joint? Hard to tell from the condition. I was planning to just...

Replacing Rear Side Window with Hatch

Hello, Has anyone replaced one of their rear side windows with a hatch or gull wing on a 5th gen? Any tips on the process? Building out the rear storage system and platform right now and that "wasted" nook by the window is just begging to be its own container accessible from the outside. I...

Akebono Rotors with EBC 7000/6000 Greenstuff Pads

Thanks for the input everyone. Will probably end up giving Akebono rotors and stock pads combo a go. I am more interested in longer life than marginally better performance at this point. I don't tow enough, drive enough in the mountains or carry enough weight to warrant stressing too much about...

Akebono Rotors with EBC 7000/6000 Greenstuff Pads

I was under the impression Akebono made the the OE rotors for the 5th gen for some reason. Anyone know for sure?

Akebono Rotors with EBC 7000/6000 Greenstuff Pads

Hi All, Looking to swap out pads and rotors that are close to biting the dust. My mechanic is recommending we throw in Akebono rotors with EBC greenstuff 7000 fronts and EBC greenstuff 6000 rears or 6000s all around. Any thoughts before I pull the trigger? Any one have any experience using...

Satoshi Grill Mod - 5th Gen

Custom Car Grills Mesh of the Month Here is mine using the Custom Car Grills mesh of the month (March, 2016) and neoprene trim. Really liked the tighter honeycomb pattern and finally found a grill material was approved by the misses, who is an interior designer and was poopooing all my grill...

Air Lift 1000 install with Daystar spacer advise

Rear Springs Ended up going with 2" Icon dual rate springs with the Air Lifts. Couldn't be happier with the results! Really feels like the rear soaks up everything now. Didn't really have any complaints about the spacer's ride quality, but was also not expecting this much of a difference from...
