Replacing Rear Side Window with Hatch

Hello,

Has anyone replaced one of their rear side windows with a hatch or gull wing on a 5th gen? Any tips on the process?

Building out the rear storage system and platform right now and that "wasted" nook by the window is just begging to be its own container accessible from the outside.

I know there are plenty of generic how to's and other model builds out there, just hoping for some 5th gen specific info and experience to help me on deciding to pull the trigger or not. :shrug:

Officially allowed to do "whatever I want" to it now that it is 10-11 years old and planing the next round of craziness since I started somewhat not sucking at welding.

The rear side windows have, for the last few years, included the radio antenna in it. You don't want to loose radio reception.

He stated that his 4R is 10-11 years old, so i would think, not an issue. That said, I just noticed the side window stuff in my 21 OR. Also turned on the rear wiper at night for the first time tonight and noticed something different back there as well, I formerly owned a '12 trail. Thanks for the heads up.
