Hi, How did you scratch up the plastic backing on the heating element? Here is what I have going on with my mirror. The wires are soldered to a heating pad like thing that seems to be sponge like. Thoughts anyone?

Oh cool, I didn't think of that while taking the glass off mine to attempt a fix. The backing for the heated element seems to be this strange sticky pad that resembles a hug 3M command strip. Do you have any pictures of the assembly?

Did you end up replacing these? I cracked the glass on mine and I'm looking to get it replace.
