Air filter is a stock Toyota filter, changed in Dec 05.

My oil was Petro-Canada Maximum 5W30. Standard stuff that you might get from a dealer. Filter was a Purolator. With the new strict specs, I think all oils are pretty good these days.

$20 for the standard test and another $10 if you want a TBN test, which basically tells you how much longer you can run your oil. They'll send you the kits for free if you go to their website.

I am very pleased with the results from this report and I thought I would share with all of you.

UPDATE As an FYI to all members, the bubbling problem continued to get worse, so I took the truck into the dealer to see what they could do. The dealer, without hesitation, suggested that all 4 rims be re-finished under warranty. I just got the truck back today, and the rims look fantastic.

I suspect you're hearing the fuel injectors. Do a search for fuel injectors and you'll see a few threads on the subject. FYI the 4runner is a truck.:D

I changed my running board lights to LED's and while I was doing this, one of the bulbs fell into the light housing. I tried for a while to get the bulb out but ended up just leaving it in there and installing another bulb. Anyone go through this or have any suggestions?

Sorry about the size of the photos, I should also mention that the wheels have been through 2 winters. I regularly rinsed them whenever the salters were out.

Stay away from the synthetics, it can do more harm than good in older engines. Use a "high mileage" oil, they have a seal conditioner among other good additives for protecting your engine.
