Hi Cezar, thanks for your response. Did you have a consistent squealing, or only intermittent?

Brake squeal after installing new rear pads and rotors

Yes came with springs. The strange thing is that they only squeak when first leaving the house in the morning. After a couple of stops, they stop squealing. However, they are quite loud when they do squeal...

Brake squeal after installing new rear pads and rotors

Hi! I installed the brake components because I figured the stock pads (approx. 60k miles on them) would be almost end of life (and wanted to have highest braking performance possible). No noise when the components were replaced. Noise is coming from rear.

Brake squeal after installing new rear pads and rotors

Hi All, I recently installed new rear pads, calipers and rotors on my 2006 Sport edition Rotors: Brembo Part #09.B634.11 Pads: AKEBONO ASP606A Ceramic I'm experiencing a loud squeal coming from the brakes when I first drive off for the first few brake applications (almost like when the pads...

    Copper washers in caliper box

Hi all, I am in the process of installing 5th gen front calipers on my 2006 Sport V6, and noticed that there are two copper washers along with the "pad spreader" springs in the caliper box (I ordered new Raybestos calipers). Based on my research, it seems that the washers are for a banjo bolt...

    Towing an Airstream 22fb

Thanks all, looks like I'd probably be better off going for a lighter weight trailer. I'm not trying to tow at the max of the 4runner (would prefer to have a larger margin of error than to be overweight). p00f

    Towing an Airstream 22fb

Hi All, Anyone know if it's advisable to tow the following Airstream with my 2006 V6? Is it cutting it too close? How do I calculate how much weight will be in the 4runner? TIA! 2011 Airstream Sport 22FB Trailer : Reviews, Prices and Specs : RV Guide P00f

    Bike rack as tire carrier?

Ah gotcha. I don't actually have a bike rack at the moment. I have considered the vertical swing as well, but would probably get more use out of the horizontal swing (and not have to drop/lift the tire every time I wanted to open the rear hatch)... P

    Bike rack as tire carrier?

Yes, my main thought is to actually get a side swinging adapter like this: Attention Required! | Cloudflare and then adding a spare tire adapter like this: Amazon.com: CURT 31006 24-Inch High Trailer Hitch Spare Tire Mount for 2-inch Receiver: Automotive Total cost 329+110= $440. I was...

    Bike rack as tire carrier?

Hi all, Apologies if it has been asked before, but has anyone tried to use/modify a sturdy bicycle rack (eg. yakima etc) as a tire carrier? The 4-bike ones should be able to manage the weight of a tire and rim (approx. 70lbs in my case). I know that there are swing out racks as well. May be a...

Better handling after trd pro wheel install

Hi all, Has anyone else noticed that their 4runner has a more "planted" feeling after installing trd pro rims? The difference in driving characteristics from 4th gen sport rims was noticeable (previously the vehicle felt slightly "wobbly"). Or is it all in my head? The tires definitely stick...
