Necro-posting but thanks so much for this. The stealership told my wife it was a rear dust cover and charged her to 'adjust it.' Shocker, it wasn't and the squeak returned after she picked her car up. 10 minutes and some double sided adhesive and no more squeak.

Put a new set of cooper discoverer at3s on it. White Letters out! I like the look, we'll see how they wear. They're more quiet than the duelers that came on the runner, but they don't ride as smooth as my old tacoma's michelins. They were, however, about 330 bucks cheaper as a set.

I went to mechanic in town and supplied him with all OEM parts. His labor plus my parts put me at 875 bucks for all of the above plus a new tensioner and pulleys.

Just for a reference point, I bought a 2006 V8 Sport Edition 4wd with 120,000 on it for 12,750 from a dealer. It needed a timing belt, water pump, pulleys, and serpentine, and has a wonky seat motor, so I'm right at about a grand worth of maintenance. It'll need tires within 10000 miles, but...

Greased drive shaft; replaced fog light; installed scangauge ii! 109 bucks at Advanced with the online $50 coupon. Good to turn a wrench after work a bit, bad that it didn't fix the driveline click.

Gents (and ladies), The last few days I've started to hear/feel a rhythmic ticking or click sound. It's not a clunk or anything violent, just loud enough to be noticeable. I jacked the truck up, put it in neutral and spun the driveshaft, and it sounds driveshaft related. I can't seem to...

Part 1 of the mod is easy; takes all of about 5 minutes to do. Haven't attempted the second part, but don't really feel the need for fogs if the high beams are on.

New front pads. Unfortunately, brakes are still squeaking. None of the pistons in the calipers appeared to be seized, and one of the old pads was cracked and missing a big chunk, so not that upset. Just wish I would have pulled the trigger on the whole shebang instead of having to duplicate...

Good find! I just got an 06 Sport V8 last week; quite the upgrade from my 2014 Tacoma in terms of power...the torque is definitely fun to play around with, and for so much car moving around, I'm way more comfortable slinging this thing thru the corners than the Taco or any other SUV I've driven...

I dig the 5th gen wheels.

I found the truck I want. Finally. 2006 V8 Sport Edition 4WD. The only problem is the drivers' side power seat does not recline. The other power adjustments all work, so it's not a fuse issue. The recline doesn't work on just one side, so I'm assuming either the motor that drives the recline...
