Okay, so now I'm begging. Will somebody with EFI on a first gen 4runner do a voltage test at the EFI fuse? I want to be sure this is my problem before I invest 100 bucks in a new ignition switch. Thanks

4 fuses have power 1. Cig 2. Stop 3. Dome 4. EFI first three make sense to me and we're fairly low compared to the EFI which if my memory serves me correctly was pulling 12. Should the EFI be pulling anything with the ignition off?

While we're on the subject...in a moment of stupidity I pulled the plug on the transmission fluid pan. When I saw red I immediately put the plug back in, checked the levels, and fired it up. The light instantly came on without even shifting out of park. Since I'm also having alternator...

I've started tracking down what is draining my battery. When there is NO key in the ignition my EFI is still pulling a pretty good load. Is this normal?

Okay, I'm close to half way through. I've got the old exhaust out. I started stripping a nut on the old direct fit cat so I opted to pull the drop pipe with catalytic converter so I could get a better angle on it. When I get it all back together I'll post the pieces I used, links, and price...

I called to ask if the dynomax exhaust would fit my 88 and they could tell me nothing except someone has ordered that particular exhaust for an 89. Any help here? since 4wheel parts isn't.

So, where did you find a system that cheap (110)? Is that just the catalytic converter?

I'm needing a cat-back exhaust system for my 88 4runner. I took it to the local muffler shop and it's a $300 plus job. Any body have a cheaper way to pass TX inspection?

I like Roger's method. It gives me a place to start. My additional headache is I'm under a carport and it can get pretty windy. It would not be a good thing to come home from a great day 4wheeling to find my top in pieces!
