I'm thinking about doing a turbo engine swap into my '88 4runner. However, in the state of California if you do a swap it must have come from a vehicle that is the same year or newer, with the proper smog equipment. So I would need an '88. Did they make one that year or was it an '86 & '87...
Are 85 22r short blocks that same as the 22re? Basically I have an 88 22re and I need a core short block. This guy has an 85 22r short block. Can I use his block, crank and rods?
