I have a 1997 4runner sr5,automatic transmission,when out on the highway with cruise control set the transmission goes into overdrive fine,when starting up a hill it kicks down into drive(normal i know)but when i get back to flat ground the vehicle stays in drive and wont go back into overdrive...

problem found took truck to a mechanic who found that the passenger side rear wheel bearing was bad after changing that now there is no more noise, hope this helps any one else with simular noises

i just purchased my first ever 4runner last month here is some pics, it is 1997 sr5,4x4,auto,power windows,locks,am-fm cd player,sunroof,tow package,roof rack.

when i purchased the truck, it did not have no remote is there any way to see if it has keyless entry system and alarm installed?

light does not flash when doors are locked

have not noticed whether or not it flashes when doors are locked will check next time out
