I have a 1997 4runner sr5,automatic transmission,when out on the highway with cruise control set the transmission goes into overdrive fine,when starting up a hill it kicks down into drive(normal i know)but when i get back to flat ground the vehicle stays in drive and wont go back into overdrive...
problem found
took truck to a mechanic who found that the passenger side rear wheel bearing was bad after changing that now there is no more noise, hope this helps any one else with simular noises
