    DIY: Replacing 3rd gen alternator

    replaced my alternator with a duralast from autozone, in a 172k miles 1997 SR5. the 3 prong plug connector looks pretty shot. i've attached a photo for review. my battery light stays on, and i replaced the old one with a battery with 10 cold cranking amps less than the old one. guy at the shop...

    scissor jacks

    i followed the link but i still can't find the section for jack lifting the car :( bottle jack worked great, placed it right under the axle - no jack stand needed. i can't thank y'all enough for the tip, i had no idea the gear was under the rear seat and the seat was a little crooked too.

    haha thanks, unfortunately i didn't get an owners manual. the one i found online didn't have a section for lifting the car. but i did find the bottle jack under the back seat. thanks a lot for that tip, save my buddy a trip out here and saved me some $$.
