Deep diving into knock sensor issue (P0328)

I should be able to peak, at least with a borescope. I feel like I've done enough continuity checks to comfortably assume the wiring is intact, but visual confirmation won't take much time.

Deep diving into knock sensor issue (P0328)

Diagnosing this trouble code. Indicates that voltage is detected high for over 1 second coming from Bank 1 knock sensor. Sensor is absolutely buried and I unfortunately don't have the time luxury to repeatedly disassemble the intake chasing possibilities, so trying to eliminate as many root...

    Roof rack mounts only manufacturer?

Best example I can come up with is something along the lines of the feet Gobi racks have, where they bolt into existing points on the 4runner and the rack bolts onto the feet.

    Roof rack mounts only manufacturer?

Looking to buy only the 4-6 mounts to then fabricate my own rack off of. Reached out to a few manufacturers of racks, only heard back from one, but they required a previous valid purchase of a full rack to provide a custom cost quote. Anyone aware of a manufacturer that will sell the mounts...

    4PiRunner Build

Built and installed 4 rails for powering everything. 12V, 12V RUN, 5V (for microcrontrollers), and Ground. 5V will be regulated by a Buck converter, which will keep the output voltage stable through the vehicle's voltage swings between 11.5ish and 14.7V. It's a bit tight, so I'll have to...

    *Scrapped* Parting 2008 4Runner SR5 V6 4WD Marysville, WA

I need the button that lowers the driver side rear seat. I understand that it's a much lower priority piece than selling the seat as a whole, so I can be patient if you want to see if the whole seat sells first. Shippped to Dayton, OH

skid plate - why even put it back on if you dont go off roading??

Most likely they were being ignorant. I've a friend who worked as an automotive engineer, and heard through him that there were more than a few engineers who knew next to nothing of maintenance and general automotive work. They tend to get those bolt-on sub-systems and are entirely ignorant of...

How many miles will it go?

The transmission pan has built in drain, fill, and level plugs, so a pure drain and fill does not require removing the pan. That said, I was able to drain, drop the pan, replace the filter, refill, and level check after reaching trans temp in just a few hours. Was pretty painless.

Should I have my transmission fluid changed/flushed?

I changed my fluid and filter a few weeks ago. Pretty painless. Took about 4 hours start to finish. From my research, a mechanical flush isn't necessary and can be - with some cars - more harmful than good. Swapping out the fluid in the pan is sufficient to maintain proper viscosity and active...

Spark plug and ignition coil question

For the record, from solely the one picture, the plug doesn't look truly awful. I wouldn't go throwing money at a problem that might not exist.

Spark plug and ignition coil question

How does the spark plug from the cracked coil look? A failed/failing coil pack can cause misfires, which could lead to increased deposits on the plug. If you have the ability to scan for misfires, you should check that cylinder. If you don't SEEM to be experiencing problems, I'd look to replace...

Any rock sliders that offer storage?

Nah, I think sliders may provide the armor/ease-of-installation/available space that I'm looking for, but I am terribly curious on other ideas and concepts. I'm looking at installing an aux fuel tank I have lying around where the spare tire is, so I've looked in the area you've mentioned. The...

Any rock sliders that offer storage?

That reminds me that it is illegal to have, install, etc secret compartments on vehicles in Ohio, but solely for the purpose of transporting illicit substances, which certainly won't be a problem for me.
